The Rules

Everyday libertarian activists like you are taking the powerful message of Liberty and sharing with their friends, families, and communities.  The Advocates for Self-Government’s Lights of Liberty awards program is designed to recognize exceptional grassroots activism — and to stimulate much more of that vital work.

To be entered into the drawing for exclusive Advocates prizes, you must tell us about your outreach activities by filling out our quick, online submission form.  The following three areas count as qualifying activities:

  • You wrote a letter-to-the-editor or an article that specifically mentions “libertarian” or “libertarianism” was published in a non-libertarian publication.
  • You worked an Operation Politically Homeless booth for a minimum of two (2) hours.
  • You delivered a speech to a predominantly non-libertarian group that specifically mentions “libertarian” or “libertarianism.”

There is no limit to the number of unique activities you can submit.  The more you do, the better your chance to win!

Any person who submits three (3) qualifying activities in a single calendar year will automatically receive the Lights of Liberty Award – which includes a signed letter of congratulations, a handsome award certificate, and other great prizes.

Those exceptional activists who perform at least three qualifying activities in EACH of the three categories will win the Lights of Liberty Triathlon and receive special recognition on the Lights of Liberty Honor Roll.
